Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering near a well-attended coastal beach abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm groves as spectators looked on.
Footage uploaded on the internet capture the chopper starting to spin near the beach then plunging towards the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders stated five persons were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were harmed. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
